Product Description This granular free emulsion eliminates deep impurities and dead cells. Desquareme is highly effective in dissolving sebum and facilitating the removal of blackheads. Using Wheat Cocoaminoacid as a soft emulsion agent, Desquacreme respects the skin's hydrolipic and oily film resulting in a clarified complexion.
Customer Reviews:
worth my first ever reviewJuly 17, 2008 I'm in my early 30s and recently started using Desquacrem at the recommendation of my facialist. I find my pores clog easily but my skin is becoming sensitive at this age - so I have to be careful with scrubs or `acne' treatments (and I've tried a lot: Aveda, Origins, Zia, Murad, etc). This product has changed my complexion, which I was finding always had a few flaws and never seemed quite as clear as I would have liked (annoying surface bumps, blackheads, etc). I apply a bit of this frothy sticky stuff (between pea and small gum ball size) like a mask in the shower or before - (sometimes I use on a wet face, sometimes dry), letting the steam in the shower help and wash it off after a few minutes. It smells nice and doesn't sting or over-dry - but it does dissolve stubborn sebum and leave the face soft. It's not like right after you get a facial, but pretty close. I really like this product, I only wish there weren't so many parabens listed on the label. Here is the ingredient list from another website: "water, cetyl alcohol, sodium cocoyl wheat amino acids, stearic acid, sodium laury sulfate, decyl glucoside, ceteth-20, triethanolamine, steareth-20, fragrance, methylparaben, butylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben". It's a bit pricey, but I buy far fewer other products because of it (e.g. no more scrubs, masks, etc). I also use it close to once every day - which is not the packaged usage suggestion.
I wouldn't be without it!July 7, 2007 I have used this product for several years 1-2 times a week in place of an exfoliant and I wouldn't be without it! Whenever I use it people comment on how great my skin looks.
I put it on a few minutes before I get in the shower and then rinse it off in the shower with a mild cleanser.
Perhaps the person who wrote the other review is not using it the same way or perhaps it works differently for different skin types.
Sothys DisappointesMay 27, 2007 I really don't feel that my skin benefited at all from use of this cream. I brought it because I read a magazine article that praised the product. I have received better results from masks that cost three bucks.
