Nice Scent, Feels GoodJune 20, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'd bought this product looking for something that would cool my face in hot, humid weather. I spritz this on over my makeup so as far as smoothing lines, I'm not sure I see that, but I do feel pores are a bit tighter and it's definitely refreshing. There's a slight tingling, not burning sensation. It smells absolutely DIVINE. I wish they'd make a candle from this fragrance.
Overall, it's great and I'm glad I bought it!
great stuff--helps keep the skin clearJune 6, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've been using this product for around 4 months, and noticed a difference in my skin after a few days of use. I tend to have eczema as well as oily skin and breakouts, and this stuff always makes a big difference when i apply it at night. it's also really refreshing on a hot day. and the fragrance is nice -- kind of a mint/rosemary/botanical smell. i'd highly reccommend it--esp since it doesn't have any scary additives or preservatives. ;)
An excellent antioxidantMay 24, 2007 It is a good product that helps prevent aging the sking and makes easy to spread the mosturizing cream after it.
I don't know about the fairytale but it sure smells nice.January 8, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Product description from the Caudalie website: An original formulation based on the Beauty Elixir of the Queen of Hungary.
Product Details: The story reveals that after the death of the King, the incredibly beautiful Queen of Hungary had suitors that were 25-35 years of age because of her youthful-looking skin . . . she was 70! CAUDALIE re-created her incredible elixir of youth, ingredient by ingredient. This remarkable mist is filled with essential oils and rare plants, giving an instant boost to your complexion.
My thoughts: So because I'm a total nerd I had to research this so called "elixir of youth" and the illustrious wonder "Queen Isabelle of Hungary". Wouldn't you know I couldn't find a damn thing anywhere on the web that came even close. (There was however, a Queen Isabelle of Bavaria that determined to keep her good looks later in life regularly applied a mixture of boar brains, wolf blood and crocodile glands to her face. Mmm...yummy, but not quite the same.) Nice sales pitch though. I do like the way it smells and the cool tingly feeling is nice. It reminds me of a day at the spa. As for the effectiveness of the product, well that is yet to be determined.
Would probably buy it again.January 2, 2007 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I'm a snob when it comes to skin care. I have to be. Otherwise I break out in a mix of rosacea and acne. I am extremely cautious (maybe overly so) about what I put on my face. Until recently I was a strict Decleor Devotee. A few weeks ago I was introduced to the Caudalie line at a local Sephora.
The basis of every Caudalie product is the grape extract which, if the looks of Mediterranean beauties like Sophia Loren are anything to go by, I'm game for.
The Elixir has a lovely smell and sprays on very minty and tingly. It certainly feels as if my skin is vibrant and glowing and my pores are definitely tighter afterwards.
So far so good in the breakout department. No unsightly blemishes, although it doesn't necessarily soothe my skin either.
The Beauty Elixir, like most items by Caudalie, is very affordable.
