This new compact base by Clinique is THE BEST face makeup - liquid or powder - I've EVER tried. And believe me - I've tried bazillions of them (even pricier brands)! It covers amazingly well. My face tends toward redness, so I got a yellow based shade (104) and it evens out my skin perfectly while covering all redness. It goes on like an ever-so-slightly creamy powder and is SUPER EASY to apply with no goofs. It manages NOT to look powdery on, although basically matte in nature. It mimics perfect skin. I went out with friends last night with this stuff on and they kept complimenting my skin! I told them it was this makeup and they were surprised I had makeup on at all. Kudos to Clinique for coming up with wearable, PERFECT skin! A dream come true! Comes in a pretty (although not particularly cute or memorable,) nice quality compact with separate sponge compartment and a good quality sponge.

I've tried a lot of compacts to find that combination of coverage yet natural looking. Before Clinique's Perfectly Real Compact, I used Bare Minerals. In order to get the coverage I wanted, it took a long time and after couple applications with the brush my skin started to dry out and saw little bits of flake. With the Clinique compact, it's quick and totally natural looking with great coverage. I use the sponge in the areas where I need a little bit more coverage and then use a brush for the rest of my face. It's really great. My face doesnt look like makeup is caked on. But WARNING; if you DO NOT know your color, I recommend going to a couple different department stores and getting consultations about the perfect color for your skin. When I went to find the color of my compact, I got recommendations ranging from 104 to 116. Some workers really don't know what they're talking about. I ended up buying 106 and this one worker recommended 116, which is a HUGE difference. Really try to find the perfect color because your skin will look more natural and money and time wouldn't be wasted.

Since Marshall Fields had a gift with purchase for Clinique, I ran right out and got this today. I was able to find my exact skin color match in shade 114(N). My skin is fair with yellow undertones. This went on smoothly and silkly with no powder streaks/marks as I seem to get with other powder foundations. This foundation has no smell and I feel like I have nothing on my face. I think they have a winner here with this foundation!
