Evangeline is surprisingly wearableApril 6, 2008 I'll admit it. I was a sucker and bought the Evangeline color because I love LOST and Evangeline Lilly.
When you first open the tube, you might be a bit shocked by what appears to be a ghastly bright coral shade, reminiscent of something grandma would have worn. But that's where you have to remember this is a SHEER lipstick. All of the colors look darker and brighter in the tube than they do on your lips.
It turns out, one coat of Evangeline is a very pretty wearable soft coral. It's not a color I will wear every day, however. It reminds me of something I would pack for a beach vacation. I think it will look GREAT in the summer when I actually have a tan.
The texture of the lipstick is similar to that of burts bees chapstick. It is lightweight and smooth. The color lasts quite well for a sheer, but it's not going to win any long-wearing awards. I don't mind this, because I think the tube is cute and I LOVE pulling it out of my purse for touch-ups. :)
I think this is a good lipstick, but I can't give it five stars because it is not the best I've ever used, and it IS expensive. I do love the packaging and the environmental friendliness though.
Comfortable lipstickJanuary 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm extremely picky when it comes to lipstick. I don't like the feel of most brands. Also, I prefer to use all-natural products...but then some don't look/wear all that well. I'm pleased to say that Plant Love both looks and wears very well. I got Majella, and on me, it's about the same color of my lips. It just adds a hint of color, definition and polish. As some reviewers have said, it's fairly sheer, though definitely more substantial and longer wearing than a lip gloss. If I apply, blot and re-apply, it lasts for hours on me. I'm going to purchase another color now, but as others have said, it's kind of hard to choose colors online. The Sephora website gives written descriptions of each shade so you might want to check that out if you need more than the color swatch (which may show up differently on your monitor). P.S. I tried planting the box-- no flowers grew! :( Did anyone have success with this? Ah, well. At least money goes to St. Jude.
Good productMay 10, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
It was hard to see the true colors on the web, so the shades differed from what I expected, but sometimes it is good t try something new. It applies like silk, and lasts well. This is a good product.
This is an excellent sheer lipstick!April 21, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love that it is not only environmentally friendly, but it is also an incredible moisturizing lipstick. It's very sheer color but you can use a lip liner for a little more pizazz. And we grew the wildflower seeds from the box! Fun and well worth the money. I have 3 shades, Nahinni, Sagarmartha, & Mariska. I prefer the more neutral Mariska.
Great lipstickMarch 29, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a great lipstick and a wonderful idea from CARGO. I would very much recommend it. The lindsay color is great and the formula is very smooth and sheer enough so that it goes well with your skin. The four stars are because I love smelly things... and this one just smells like lipstick. It could smell yummier I suppose. But so far, I love it!
