Product Description Our Vitamin D is Vitamin D3, the preferred form for supplementation. This product is 2,000 IU Extra Strength vegetarian Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol).
Vitamin D3 for use in supplements comes primarily from three sources: cod liver oil, animal hides, or sheep's wool. Our Extra Strength Vitamin D3 uses vitamin D3 made from sheep's wool sheered from live sheep. The manufacturer of the raw material has certified that the sheep are not harmed during this process, satisfying the Vegetarian Society's requirements for labeling this product as "vegetarian." Additionally, we used a white 100% plant-based capsule (which contains no gelatin.) This combination of "fish-free, gelatin-free, and vegetarian" will satisfy most dietary restrictions, and provides 2000IU of Vitamin D3 in one convenient capsule.
Vitamin D is extremely sensitive to light, and rapidly breaks down from exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light. To help block UV light and protect the vitamin D, we use white vegetarian capsules, instead of clear ones.
