Perfect for Light-Skinned African AmericansJune 5, 2008 As a light-skinned African American, I found it impossible to find a color match. I had tried Cover Girl, Loreal, Lancome, Vanity Fair, Mary Kay, and several others. I happened upon Stila by accident. I went into a BareMinerals store and there wasn't anyone to color match me, so I walked to a JCPenneys and the BareMinerals either made me look too pink or too lavendar - go figure - they say it matches all skintones!!! BUT, I was perfectly matched to Stila's 70 watt and fell head-over-heels for this brand. I now have various eyeshadow palettes, along with a back up foundation, and am always visiting the Stila site for more products. The cost is higher than a drug store, but well worth the price. As the other reviews have said, the eyeshadows last all day and don't crease, they are highly blendable, the foundation isn't cakey and I can apply as much as needed and still look natural. The 70 watt matches me so perfectly, that I always have to double check to see if it has even been applied to my face. Imagine that - me with a perfect foundation shade that provides me with the coverage I need. Also, my t-zone tends to be oily but this foundation alleviates some of that. I only have to touch up sith a sheer translucent powder towards the evening, if at all.

Not for meNovember 10, 2007 It is much too opaque and I felt looked unnatural. For someone wanting very high coverage and likes a matt look this will probably work. I do love this brand for other products though!

I have been using Stila powder for years and it has not lost it's staying power! It goes on smooth and sheer without building up on my skin.

I love this powder and its case. I've dropped it a million times and never once has the powder cracked. The smooth and light feel on my semi-dry skin is impressive. You don't have to wear foundation because of the great coverage. I highly recommend this product especially if you have dry/combination skin.
