SlimDecember 26, 2008 Very Nice and Slim Perfect Condition You should Buy it for anyone. Slight problem tho. You might wanna have 2 Different channels for your mouse and your Keyboard otherwise it would be kinda buggy.
Mouse: love it; keyboard: not so muchDecember 13, 2008 First of all the mouse works really well. But two different keyboards have died. The first one was replaced under warranty. No problem. Now that the second one has gone out I will just throw it out and find something better. Unless you want a keyboard that only lasts for 6 to 8 months I would look elsewhere.
Great productDecember 12, 2008 Great price and it works great, slim and easy to type. Great features as well.
Great Wireless Combo!!December 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Let me first start off by saying I would have given this product a 5 star rating if it wasn't for the fact that i had to buy an extension usb cable so that i could use the mouse and keyboard around the entire room...
Other than that small setback the keyboard in combination with the mouse is unbelievable and I couldn't ask for much more in a setup like this!
The mouse is better than my older logitech wired one and fits perfectly in my hand (although its somewhat bigger) its a great mouse and can be also programmed with the included software! What's even better is that the scroll portion not only works up and down, but can also scroll side to side!!
The keyboard is very easy to use and has SO MANY FEATURES! The zoom feature alone is worth every penny! I use a 32" LCD TV hooked up to my computer and viewing the screen from my bed is near impossible because everything is so small. The zoom keys zoom in on webpages and other programs letting me fully explore what ever i desire without moving closer to the TV! The itunes/music button is great when you want to load your music up w/o having to click everywhere to get in, and the programmable quick buttons have me browsing pages or opening programs i need on a daily basis in a flash! I even love the shut down windows key so i can be really lazy and shut down from the comfort of my own chair/bed!
Lastly the power save feature on this set is incredible. The batteries (included) really do last for approx. 6mos or longer which makes this setup even more impressive in my opinion.
Being this is my first wireless setup I would recommend it to all who want to go wireless w/o having to pay premium bucks! Search around for this one (i got it on sale for less than $45!!) so it was well worth the money! The only thing i would invest in if you want to be able to use it anywhere in a room is an extension cable so that you can position the sensor box to where you will be (mine is setup in the middle of my room so i can be anywhere and still recieve the signal)
A Fine Wireless Keyboard SetDecember 8, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've been using the Cordless Desktop for about a week and overall I'm pretty pleased with it. First, set up is a breeze and took just a few minutes. The software also updated to the latest version after installing the CD, which was nice (hunting down drivers and updates can be a real pain).
While the keyboard is on the large size, between the small, single USB wireless receiver and the complete lack of cords it has really cleaned up my desk space quite a bit. The keyboard feel is nice - a little on the soft side, but pleasantly quiet as a result. The keyboard has collapsible risers on the bottom, providing two positions for the keyboard; with the risers down, the keyboard actually tilts slightly downward which may be more ergonomic by putting the wrists in a flatter position. With the risers up the keyboard is just about level, or perhaps angled up a degree or two. I find the latter position more comfortable.
The key layout is fairly good, with some unusual touches like the larger Delete button and home/end/page up/down buttons to the far right of the qwerty keyboard, which take a little getting used to. The function keys, escape button and insert/scroll lock/print screen and break keys are all half-height, which might annoy people who use them frequently, but I don't mind it.
The keyboard does offer some nice additions as well, with the row of tiny function buttons that include quick access to certain features like zoom and rotate on the right and access to a full range of audio control buttons on the right. Many of these buttons, as well as the entire top row of function buttons, are programmable through the included software so you can use them to launch your favorite apps or do other functions. Some functions cannot be programmed however, due to the limitations of the software and certain commands cannot be executed due to limitations of the software; for instance I wanted to program the "home" button to execute the "show desktop" function, but because programming the button requires actually pressing the keys, whenever I tried to program it I ended up minimizing all the windows. A better process would have programming in sequence to achieve more complicated macros.
My biggest complaint about the keyboard so far is that the actual qwerty portion of the keyboard seems to be ever so slightly smaller than my previous full-sized keyboard. As a result my touch-typing is off and I find myself looking at the keyboard more to correct this. I'm sure that I will get used to it, but for a keyboard with so much space to offer it's a little annoying that the keys that I use most frequently are not quite full sized.
The mouse is much better than I expected. I had actually purchased this set to replace an old wireless Logitech mouse that I loved, but that had failed after many years of service. I was expecting to like this mouse much less, and while it isn't quite up to the standard of some of the more expensive mouses (mice) that are available, it is quite good. The size is comfortable and the weight adds just enough heft without being overly heavy. The two standard buttons are augmented with a scroll wheel with both a click and side-to-side buttons, each of which is programmable. For instance, I have set the tilt-left feature as "back" and tilt-right as "forward" for web browsing, and the wheel-click as "minimize" for easier switching between apps. Once again, these features can be programmed to a large number of preset functions or can be set to certain (but not all) keystroke combinations.
Once again, overall this is a very nice wireless keyboard and mouse combo set for the price. Both the keyboard and mouse feel sturdy enough to stand up to years of abuse.
